Biography
Veronica Chapp
Veronica graduated from the University of Michigan and studied dance at several premier studios across the country. She has worked professionally in the United States and Europe as a choreographer, teacher, performer, judge, makeup artist, and costume designer, for over 20 years. She most recently has added Zumba to her repertoire. She has danced with the Switzerland chapter of "Culture Shock", an international hip-hop company, "Cuture Shock" in San Diego, and Urban FX. She has also danced and choreographed for the "New Dance Company" based out of Switzerland and “Tanz Emotion Dance Academy” based out of Freiburg, Germany.
Veronica's resume also includes choreographing for opening acts who have performed with LL Cool J, India Arie, Busta Rhymes, Jessica Simpson, Jo Jo, Ryan Cabrera, Aaron Carter, and Jordan Knight and many more. In addition, she has worked with many international and national award winning dance companies and NBA dance teams, and she had performed for numerous auto shows and industrials. Veronica is also the founder of one of Detroit's longest running casino shows, "Velocity".
Veronica is recently living in New York City, after living in Chicago while pursuing a double Masters degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling at Columbia College Chicago, Illinois. While in Chicago, she also studied and performed improvisation acting at the "Second City Training Center" and "I.O."
Veronica’s students are known throughout the United States for their fineness in dance. Her previous students star on Broadway, in film, TV, movies and commercials. Former students of Veronica have had the privilege of performing with acts such as: Rihanna, Usher, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Lady Ga Ga, “So You Think You Can Dance”, “Dancing With the Stars”, Disney, NBA Dance teams, NFL dance teams and many more. Veronica is very proud of her student's achievements.
Veronica's is currently working on her Master's thesis, her research is providing dance/movement therapy to homeless moms and children in Detroit through Mitch Albom's charity S.A.Y. In her research, Veronica is using dance and movement as a tool to encourage self-expression with her clients. Veronica is also currently choreographing and teaching workshops around the country and internationally. She has currently been teaching a new form of class, “E.Motion” provides the dancer time to explore their inner self and how to apply this to their everyday life and in their movement. Veronica is teaching this at the University level and looks forward to bringing it to the competitive convention circuit. She looks forward to the future, as she plans to teach authentic movement and reach dancers and actors on a deeper level so that they may be able to enjoy the "Dance" of life authentically and spiritually.
